"It's fun. I wanted a fun exercise class to get me off the sofa!"

"I love dancing and haven't liked the music in aerobic classes I have tried. I knew the teachers were good as I had seen them with the children. I wanted to commit to some regular exercise and I knew I would not be pressurised into doing anything I didn't feel comfortable with."

Opendance

Contemporary dance fitness for adults.

Ideal for beginners and those who have danced before, Opendance is a blend of aerobic fitness, body conditioning and fun contemporary dance.

The class was started in 2005, after complaints from parents of children coming to Kidsdance that it wasn't fair their kids got to have all the fun!

Opendance is open to any adult who wants to dance. It's fun and friendly and you can take it at your own pace.

Opendance is a unique blend of contemporary dance and fitness.  The class starts with an aerobic style warm up sequence, followed by dance sequences in the centre of the room and travelling sequences. The class finishes with yoga style toning and stretching, plus important abdominal exercises!

Opendance is ideal for busy people who want to have fun while keeping fit. Try the class for a one-off £10 fee, which will be deducted from your sign-up fee if you decide you'd like to come again. We hope you will!

What to wear and bring

Comfortable tracksuit bottoms and a T-shirt are ideal for Opendance. Women may also want to wear a sports bra for support. Shoes are not necessary, as contemporary dance is done barefoot.

You will get hot, so bringing a bottle of water is a good idea. You may also want to bring an exercise mat to lie on at the end of the class, but this is not essential.
