An introduction to contemporary dance for children aged 3.5 to 5 years, who are ready to be left by their carer. Children gradually gain confidence through acquired dance skills inspired by a central theme. Prime Movers is a 40 minute class which starts with a fun and lively warm-up related to our theme of the term. The children briefly discuss the theme, then they learn original dance sequences which get them moving with confidence and coordination and develop choreography as a whole group or in partners, learning to cooperate with other children. From the age of 5, children are invited to take part in performances if they would like to do so. |
